Here is a tourism attraction with a different twist: an automotive plant.

Visitors can schedule tours of the Nissan North America manufacturing facility in Smyrna. The free tours are available at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and require reservations. The phone number is (615) 459-1444.

The Smyrna assembly plant is widely regarded as one of the most productive automotive facilities in the world.

It has the ability to manufacture 550,000 vehicles annually, producing Nissan Altima and Maxima sedans, Xterra and Pathfinder SUVs, and the Frontier truck.
